Helen Luella (Dunn) Burkett
went to rest with her Lord & Savior, on Saturday, December 10, 2016. This beloved daughter, mother, aunt, friend, grandmother & great-grandmother passed peacefully into His hands, in her home.  Helen was born in Clarksville, Ohio, April 3rd, 1930, the daughter of the late Robert Leslie Dunn & Rena Josephine (Carnahan) Dunn. Also preceded in death by her brother- James Martin Dunn. She is survived by Ronald L. (Linda) Dunn her cousin who was raised with her as a brother.
Helen or H.B., as she was known as by her peers in Clinton County Government, was employed by the C.C. Auditor’s office for 27 years. Along with her God, family and friends, Helen loved helping others. She served her community in many ways throughout her life. She gave of her time to her church, & her ministry to shut ins, as well as those in area nursing homes. She also gave time volunteering with CMH Guild #7, her local hospital. Over the years, she was a Sunday School teacher & Choir director also involved leading & helping with several 4-H clubs as well as in Girl Scouting. She was also a Deputy Registrar who sold license plates, from her home.  She served with the Board of Elections many of those years as Presiding Judge. There are too many other to name them all.
Also surviving are her children, grandchildren & 20 great-& 2 great great-grandchildren. Penny Lynn Burkett of Lynchburg, Oh and children Ben (Vanessa) Little & Grace McKnight of Kettering Ohio.  Wanda Elaine (Jeff) Armstrong & daughter, Susan (Robert) Smith of Wilmington along with Jimmie (Tracy) Armstrong & Jennifer (Joe) Ellis, both of Clarksville. Barbara Ellen (Jeff) Becker of Hillsboro and children Clinton (Rose) Becker & Lyndsay (Alex) East of Wilmington as well as Ginger (Andrew) Johnson of Amelia, Oh.  Crystal Diane Wilson and children Sacha, Holly & Hunter of Clarksville, Oh.
The family offers special thanks to Community Care Hospice and their staff for their service and support.  Also much thanks to friends of the family, Donna Fallice & Tammy Brister of Wilmington & Julie Combs of Sabina, for their time spent offering respite to the family and caring for Helen in her home.
Visitation Will be 4-7 PM, Monday, December 19, 2016 at Fisher-Edginton Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust St. at North Mulberry St.,  Wilmington, Oh 45177.  A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 AM, Dec. 20  at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home with graveside service following at Clarksville, Oh Cemetery. Pastor Andrew Johnson, grandson-in-law, will officiate the services.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Helen’s honor to Community Care Hospice, The Parkinson Foundation or the Diabetes Association.
