Gwen Rice Clark,
Age 87, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away Tuesday morning, August 25, 2015 at the Hospice of Dayton.
She was born April 24, 1928 in Akron, OH, daughter of the late John Basil & Willa Ann (Heaberlin) Rice. On June 20, 1952 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, she married Delmar L. Clark, who survives.
She had been a member of the Dayton Central Nazarene and the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene, where she was very active and had held various positions. Gwen was an inspirational writer. She had a column in Hillsboro Times-Gazette for many years and was a first grade teacher for over 20 years.
In addition to her husband, other surviving family members are her 2 sons- Kelly Duane (Linda) Clark of Union, OH & Timothy Clark, Hillsboro; daughter- Kathy (John) Boehm of Woodland, CA; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother- Paul Rice of Cincinnati, OH; 3 sisters- Esther Ferguson of Flatwoods, KY, Verna Mae (Elmo) Melvin of Wurtland, KY, Britta (Bill) Bridges of Mt Vernon, OH; and numerous nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, Gwen was preceded in death by her brothers- Floyd, John, Harold, & Waldo Rice and sisters- Dorothy & Marguerite.
Funeral Services will be held 12:00 Noon, Friday, August 28 at the Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 East Main Street, Hillsboro with Rev. Steve Nickels officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery, Hillsboro, Ohio.
Friends will be received from 11 AM until the time of services, Friday, August 28 at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
