Gina Tarpley Root,
age 64, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, August 31, 2021 at her home.
She was born December 17, 1956 in Norfolk, Virginia, daughter of the late Carlton & Susan (Bryson) Tarpley.
Surviving are her two sons- Cuyler (Cassandra) Root, of Lubbock, Texas & Colin Root, of West Carrollton, OH; granddaughter- Victoria May Fast; sister- Lisa (Victor) Haines of Wilmington; niece- Susannah (DJ Eckman) Haines of Wilmington; and a host of cousins who loved her very much.
From the time she was born, she loved to learn and was a voracious reader. She loved learning about history, philosophy, religions and politics. One of her proudest accomplishments was graduating from Wilmington College in 2005 with a degree in history. She was also a 1974 graduate of Wilmington High School.
Gina had a huge heart and always wanted to help those in need. She was passionate about her convictions and would often speak up about her beliefs with no filter. She loved her family and her dogs unconditionally and especially loved her precious granddaughter. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A gathering of her family and friends will be held from 5:00 - 6:30 PM, Wednesday, September 8 with a time of reflection and remembrance to follow at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington.
