Gertrude Souder, 85, of Wilmington, OH, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015 after a lengthy illness at the Court House Manor in Washington Court House, OH.
She was born October 18, 1930 in Powell County, KY, daughter of the late English and Carrie Bowen.
She had attended Dry Ridge High School in Kentucky and was a member of the Wilmington Senior Center.
Surviving is her husband of 63 years, Sanford Souder of Wilmington, OH, son, Gary Souder of Miami, FL, daughter, Sheila (Scott) Chandler of Wilmington, OH, two sisters, Wanda Ruber of Dry Ridge, KY, Viva Combs of Williamstown, KY, and a brother-in-law, David (Joyce) Souder of Williamstown, KY. Also surviving are four Grandchildren, Stacey Mayer, Ka'Shira Chandler, Kameron Chandler, Kolten Chandler, three Great-Grandchildren, Dalton Mayer, Wyatt Mayer, Shelby Mayer, several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, Gertrude was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Allen R. Ruber.
Services will be held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 12:00 pm with Pastor Sidney Clay officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, OH.
Friends will be received at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home Thursday, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.
