Gerald  H. "Jerry"  Sherod,
age 76, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away, Saturday morning, February 16, 2013 at home after a long battle with cancer.

He was born February 21, 1936 in Lebanon, Ohio, son of the late Herbert Francis Sherod  and Mary Ione (Kibbey) Sherod, who survives in Troy, Ohio.  On June 8, 1957 in Wilmington, he married Norma Jean Hunt Sherod, who also survives.

Jerry retired as the service manager for Bill Marine Ford after 38 years of service.  A Vietnam War Era Army National Guard Veteran, he was a member of the Wilmington Church of Christ, The Wilmington Masonic Lodge F. & A.M. #52, the Aladdin Shrine, Scottish Rite-Cincinnati, and the Clinton County Shrine Club.

In addition to his wife and mother, other surviving family members are his 2 sisters- Barbara Frings, Troy and Joyce (James) Yarbrough, Scottsdale, AZ; 3 nieces; a nephew; an uncle- Harold (Pauline) Kibbey, New Vienna, Ohio and an aunt-Faye Delcamp, Pleasant Hills, Ohio.

In addition to his father, Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter- Lynnette Jean Coup.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington  with Pastor Dale McCamish officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, where the Wilmington American Legion Post #49 Memorial Squad will accord full military honors.

Friends will be received from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM, Wednesday at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, OH.  The Wilmington Masonic Lodge will perform masonic services during the visitation.
