Gerald "Buck" Rhoades, age 89, of Hillsboro and Sardinia Ohio, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, OH .
He was born June 25, 1925 in Highland County, OH, son of the late Emmet E. Rhoades and Josie (Stillwell) Rhoades.
Buck was a member of theMowrystown/ Sardinia American Legion, Lions Club, and the Sardinia Volunteer Fire Department and Life Squad. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of WWII.
Surviving are wife, Dorothy Clark Rhoades of Hillsboro, OH, 4 sons, Jim (Stephanie) Rhoades of Hillsboro, OH, Weasel (Teresa) Rhoades of Winchester, OH, Mike (Teresa) Clark of Dodsonville, OH, Randy (Pam) Clark of Winchester, OH, 3 daughters, Geraldine (Harvey) Carter of Sardinia, OH, Janet Bradford of Leesburg, OH, Susan (Ronnie) Miller of TN, 7 granddaughters, 8 grandsons, 10 great-granddaughters, 6 great-grandsons, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn "Pop Eye" Rhoades, a son, Scott Rhoades, grandson, Chad Clark, two sisters, Grace (Dwight) Vance, Mae (Roy) Cornetet, and brother, Glen (Faye) Rhoades.
Funeral Services will be held at Edgington Funeral Home, Friday, January 30, 2015 at 11:00 am with Pastor Robert Hottle officiating. Interment will follow in the Sardinia Cemetery, Sardinia, Ohio.
Friends will be received at Edgington Funeral Home, Mowrystown, Ohio Thursday, January 29, 2015, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
