Geneva Chew,
Age 91, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 29, 2015 at the Cape May Retirement Community.
She was born December 20, 1923 in Brown County, Ohio, daughter of the late James Edward & Chlorene Elfreda (Woodruff) Sydnor. She married Donald A. Chew who passed away in March of 1999.
Geneva had worked as an Office Administrator at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base during WWII, the Wilmington Publishing Company, and the Clinton County Cable Co. She and her husband owned and operated Don's Camera Shop. Geneva specialized in tinting and colorizing black and white photos. She was a member of Presbyterian Church of Wilmington.
Surviving are her 2 daughters- Debra J. (Graham) Shepard of Mason, OH. & Brenda Conyers, Ft. Myers, FL; son- Mark A. Chew, Mason; 4 grandchildren- Ashley (Eugene) Matho, Annie Wisecup, Amanda Chew, & Michael Chew; 3 step-grandchildren- Nina (John) Sharpe, John Conyers, & Pam Bolin; 6 great-grandchildren;a sister- Joan Raizk, Wilmington; and many nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Geneva was preceded in death by her sister- Louise Fuller; 2 brothers- Gayle Syndor & Larry Syndor; and son-in-law- Gary Conyers.
Funeral Services will be held 12 Noon, Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry St., Wilmington with Rev. Dave Hinman officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington.
Visitation will be from 11 am to 12 PM, Monday at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home.
