Gayle W. Bow, age 87, of Wilmington, Ohio, formerly of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away, Monday, December 5, 2016 at Four Seasons Nursing Home in Washington Court House, Ohio.
He was born December 26, 1928 in Nicholas County, Kentucky, the first son of the late John T. and Relma Ritchie Bow.
Gayle attended Nicholas County Schools and was a graduate of Fort Monmouth School of Electronics in New Jersey. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Gayle worked at IBM in Lexington for about 32 years and was a member of the Blue Lick Masonic Lodge #495 F & AM for 50 years. He had lived in Lexington until 2015, when he moved to Wilmington with his wife. Gayle was honored with being a Kentucky Colonel. He was of the Christian faith and an avid golfer.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Norma Jean Vice Bow, brother, Donald (Norma) Bow, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gayle was preceded in death by a sister, Carolynn Grider and a brother, Vernon Bow.
Graveside Services will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 1:30 PM at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, 6980 Danville Road, Nicholasville, Kentucky.
Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home is serving the family.
