 Franklin Delano Simpson, 

Age 90, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 13, 2024 at the Laurels of Blanchester.  He was born April 4, 1934 in Barbourville, Kentucky, son of the late John L. Simpson and the late Margaret Carmackel Hamilton .

 A Vietnam War Era Veteran, Frank served in the United States Air Force as a Fire Protection Supervisor over 28 years earning the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award and the Air Force Overseas Ribbon. After retiring from the Air Force, he became a civil servant for the Veterans Affairs Fire Department in Marion, IN, as fire chief for 16 years. After retiring from the VA, he and his wife relocated to Wilmington. A member of Wilmington Church of Christ; he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

  Surviving are daughter- Lisa (Butch) Salmon of Warner Robins, GA; step-daughters- Diana (Jack) Tamplin of Wilmington, OH, & Joyce (Greg) Wickert of Riverton,WY; sister- Beulah West, of KY; sisters-in-law- Norma Jean Stanforth of Wilmington, OH, & Catherine Wisecup of Troy, OH; 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; and numerous nieces & nephews.

 In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife- Wilma Ruth Wisecup Simpson; Brother- John O. Simpson; sisters- Marie Davis, & Jackie Worley; step-brother- Jimmy Simpson; step-sister- Louise Goodin; step-daughter- Sharon K. Akens; and step-sons- Gary W. Lehman & David T. Lehman.

 Graveside Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM , Friday, August 16, 2024 at Sugar Grove Cemetery, 297 W. Truesdell St, Wilmington, with Pastor Dale McCamish officiating. The Active Duty Air Force Squad from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the Wilmington American Legion Post #49 will accord full military honors. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
