Eric Aaron Albert Hackney,
age 43, passed away on Sunday evening, Oct. 16, 2016 from injuries sustained in a private airplane crash near Camp Kern in Warren County, Ohio. Eric was born Dec. 27, 1972, in Wilmington, OH. He was a lifetime member of Chester Friends Meeting House. Eric moved to Punta Gorda, FL in 2008 to be close to his mother. A deep love of family and friends and non-stop energy for work and play were his trademarks. He was able to leave people with a smile. He was a graduate of Wilmington High School, and attended Wright State University. Eric was not only a licensed pilot, but a highly accomplished businessman. He is survived by his mother, Maureen Larkin and step father, Tom Larkin; fiancé, Ali Chang; brother Warwick Hackney and wife Emily, and brother and sister: Clint Hackney and son Jake and Cortney and Gail Lakes & Husband Larry, and sons Brad his wife Linda & family and Matthew; son, Jonathan Hackney; Uncle Patrick Warwick well as many loving cousins, great nephews and nieces, and friends.He is preceded in death by grandparents, Howard and Lucille Hackney, George Warwick and Margaret Warwick; and his father, Albert Hackney; uncle, Roderick Hackney; and aunts Katherine Luby and Maxine Warwick.
Receiving of Friends and Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Chester Friends Meeting, 3451 Gurneyville Road, Wilmington, Ohio 45177. The service and reception will then be following at 3pm at Chester Friends Meeting. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington has been entrusted with the arrangements. Contributions in memory of Eric may be made to Chester Friends Meeting
