Elise Sue (Lyons) Gossett, 69 years, of Hillsboro passed away peacefully on Saturday April 12, 2025 at her home.
Elise was born on May 30, 1955 in Cincinnati OH, the daughter of Paul Edwin and Joy Emma (Harvey) Lyons. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Dale Lyons.
Elise is survived by her husband Dana Gossett who she married on August 03, 1991 and whom she loved and cherished.
She was a graduate of Hillsboro High School class of 1973. She enjoyed a long time career at the Kroger Company starting as a Bagger/cashier and eventually became a store manager at several different stores from 1973 and retired after 38 years.
Elise is survived by her Husband Dana K Gossett, Brother Rodney (Kathleen) Lyons, Brother Perry (Linda) Lyons, Brother Larry (Deanna) Lyons, Sister Twila (David) Satterfield, Sister Jeannie (Mick) Ferguson, Sister Angela Lyons, Brother-in-law Gary (Jennifer) Gossett, Brother-in-law Tim Gossett, Sister-in-law Pamela (Rob) Jackson.
She is also survived by her adored 77 nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews that she treated as her own as well as many Aunts, Uncles and cousins
In addition she is also survived by many “adopted/extended” church and community children/families that she loved, cherished and cared for dearly.
Elise had a passion for her community and her family and took extra care to ensure she catered many events, dinners and meals for more people then we could ever begin to list. She catered weddings, board meetings, business events, graduations, parties, birth and retirement events and many more. She loved to cook, bake, sew, decorate, garden, can food, farm as well as driving the tractor, feeding the guys in the fields and taking long rides and trips. Many of these trips were often spent with family and friends antiquing, junking and sharing in good food “making memories”. She shared her love and compassion with children and some would often say that she spoiled them in love. She made a huge impact in many lives that will be carried on for years to come.
Elise was a very active member of the Union Church of Christ. She loved serving the Lord and ensuring that all were taken care of. She was a Sunday School teacher and served on the Women Serving Christ for many years. Elise was a prior member of Fairview church of Christ where she accepted the Lord Jesus as her Savior on August 13, 1967.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 12:00 p.m., noon at the Union Church of Christ with Pastor Josh Books officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church Monday, April 21, 2025, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday 11:00 – 12:00.
