Eli Yovich

Eli  Yovich, age 86, of Wilmington, OH, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at his residence.

He was born August 18, 1926 in Union City, Pennsylvania son of the late Rade Yovich and Evica Mraovich.
On March 5, 1994 he married Betty J. Yovich who survives.

Eli was a sales representative for the H.D. Hudson Mfg. Company for 30 years.

He was a member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church, the Masonic Ladge, American Legion Post #49, the Elks #797, and the Wilmington Lions Club. Eli was a WWII veteran of the US Army where he was a member of the Honor Guard for the Tomb of the Unkown Soldier in Washington D.C. He had served five terms on the Wilmington City Council; twenty three years on the Board of directors of #797 Golf Club; had been on the Board of Directors since 1994 of the Clinton County Community Action; the Wilmington Lions Club Board of Directors; the Southwest Ohio Council on Aging Boaard of Directors for six years. Eli greatly enjoyed playing golf with his sons and friends.

In addition to his wife other survivors include two sons, James E. (Suzann) Yovich, of Sugar Grove, PA, Steven G. (Heidi) Yovich, of Mill Village , PA, and one daughter, Merita (Richard) Hatch, of Erie, PA. Also surviving are seven step-children, Joe (Patty) Hickey, of Wilmington, Gerald (Barbara) Hickey, of Wilmington, Diane (Lee) Smith, of Bowersville, Francie (Larry) Danley, of Wilmington, Barbara (Ernie) Diller, of LaPaz, Bolivia, Kenneth (Dee) Young, of Mt. Vernon, OH, and Cindy K. (Mark) Harrison, of Gallipolis, OH. Also surviving is a brother, Dan Yovich, of Union City, PA, 7 grandchildren, 21 step-grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 25 step-great grandchildren, his former wife, Glenna McGarvey, of Erie PA, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Eli was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters, his former wife Catherine Hickey Yovich and a step-son, Evan Hickey.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013,  at the Wilmington United Methodist Church   with Rev. Dean Feldmeyer officiating.

Friends will be received at the church on Friday, April 5 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm.

Eli will be laid to rest at the Mill Village Cemetery in Mill Village, Pennsylvania.

The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, is serving the family.
