Doris Mae Walker,
age 97, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away, late Thursday night, April 11, 2024 at the Cape May Retirement Community in Wilmington.
She was born March 31, 1927 in Morrow, Ohio, daughter of the late John Liser & Elva Pearl (Stouder) Craig SR. She married John Harley Walker, who passed on September 21, 1998.
Doris was a member of the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, Wilmington, the Sarah Group of the Christian Women Ministry & the Mary's Circle at church; The New Vienna Order of the Eastern Star#327; served as Past Matron of Wilmington Chapter of the OES in 1964, 1979, & 1982, President of Past Matrons and Past Patrons of District 21 OES; Mother Advisor and Board Member of Wilmington Rainbow Assembly #74; was a Den Mother of the Main Building Cub Scouts; and had been President of the Main Building Elementary School PTA. She was a 1945 Adams TWP High School Graduate.
Surviving are her sons- Jack M. (Barbara) Walker of Wilmington & James H. (Gail) Walker of Wilmington; sister-in-law- Mary Lou Walker, Cincinnati; Ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by her daughters- Elizabeth Karen Walker & Denise Carol (Don) Mangus; brothers- John Craig Jr & Robert E. (Anna) Craig; and sister- Elizabeth E Craig.
Graveside Services will be held 1:30 PM., Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the Jefferson Township, Friends Section of the Westboro Cemetery at the corner of Hales Branch and Jonesboro Road, Westboro, Ohio with Pastor Connor L. Thompson officiating. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
