Donald Carnahan

Donald G. Carnahan,
age 87, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away peacfully surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday afternoon, January 15, 2012 at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, Ohio.

He was born October 24, 1924 in Blanchester, OH, son of the late Harry O. & Pearl (Mulford) Carnahan.  He married on August 2, 1947 in Blanchester, Ohio to Beulah M. Hopkins, who survives.

A WW II US Navy Veteran,  Donald retired as a Spot Welder from NCR after 33  years of service. He also was the custodian for the Wilmington United Methodist Church for 15 years and had been a door greeter at Walmart for a number of years. He was a member of  the Wilmington United Methodist Church and the Wilmington American Legion Post #49 and attended Villars Chapel UMC.

In addition to his wife, other surviving family members are his 2 daughters, Arla Faye Carnahan of Wilmington, OH & Jean (Randy) Bevan, Orlando, FL; son- Mark (Karen Losey) Carnahan, West Chester, OH; 6 grandchildren- Christa, Jason, Malissa, Scott, Drew, & Chad; a great-granddaughter- Kennedy Dawn; a step-great-granddaughter- Briana; daughter-in-law- Brenda (Drummond) Carnahan, Cincinnati, Ohio; sister- Jayne (Earl) Cusick, Stone Park, IL; & 2 nephews- Brent & Brett.

In addition to his parents,  Donald was preceded in death by his son, Donnie Carnahan.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Wilmington United Methodist Church, 61 East Main Street, Wilmington with Rev. Dean Feldmeyer & Rev. Jim Weible officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, Ohio. The Wilmington American Legion Post #49 Memorial Honor Squad will accord full military honors at the cemetery.

Friends will be received from 11 AM until the time of services at the church.
