Debra “Debbie” (Welch) Stamper went to rest with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 24, 2016. She loved her family and especially being a grandmother.
Debbie was born May 2, 1957 in Louisville, KY, daughter of Robert and Barbara Welch. She was preceded in death by her father Robert. She is survived by her husband, JB Stamper, whom she married June 1, 1983, daughter and son-in-law, Ashley A. (Eliseo Hernandez) Stamper, grandson Ethan Arce Stamper, one brother David (Michelle) Welch and nieces Claire and Hannah Welch.
Debbie was employed as the executive director of The Clinton County Convention & Visitors Bureau for the past 18 years. She was recognized as an outstanding leader by The Ohio Association of Convention and Visitors Bureau and The Ohio Travel Association of Ohio, having achieved numerous awards year after year for destination marketing and tourism development for Clinton County.
Debbie also received the “Outstanding Women of Clinton County “ award in the year 2009.
The family offers special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Good Samaritan Hospital of Dayton, Ohio.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Thursday December 29th at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust St. Wilmington, OH. A graveside service will held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday December 30 at the Sugar Grove Cemetery in Wilmington . Pastor David E. McClellan of Bible Baptist Church of Xenia, Ohio will officiate the services.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Outstanding Women of Clinton County scholarship fund , 761 Nelson Avenue, Wilmington, OH 45177 or the Foster J Boyd Cancer Center c/o the American Cancer Society, 31 Farquhar Avenue, Wilmington, OH 45177 .
