Darlene Davis Campbell,
Age 83, of Wilmington, Ohio, died December 19, 2024 at the Ohio Living Cape May Retirement Community in Wilmington, Ohio.
She was born May 14, 1941 in Naugatuck, West Virginia, daughter of John Lewis & Merlie (Thompson) Davis and Merlie Thompson, both deceased. She is survived by her husband, Pastor Doug Campbell; son, Matthew Burnett of Newark, OH; a daughter, Lori (Mike) Rodenhauser, of Wilmington; a step-daughter, Heather (Brian) Martin, of Centerville, OH; a step-son, Matthew Campbell, Sidney, OH; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother- John Lewis (Brenda) Davis, of Centerburg, OH; and a sister, Joan (Don) Griffith, of Newark, OH. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Darlene was a professional secretary, most notably, secretary to the bishop of the Ohio Synod, Lutheran Church of America. She retired in 2003. She was a reader and a seamstress and enjoyed cooking, travel and genealogy. She was a member of Faith Lutheran, Wilmington, and a part of the women's Bible Study. In previous congregations she served as youth leader and in other roles.
Memorial Services will be held 10:00 AM, January 6, 2025 at Faith Lutheran Church, 421 East Vine Street at Prairie Ave, Wilmington with Pr. Joel Richter presiding. Interment will follow in the Fernwood Cemetery, Lockbourn, Ohio. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 9:00 AM until the time of services on Monday, Jan. 6 at the church.
