Dale M. Liggett,
age 83, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away suddenly Tuesday morning, September 1, 2015.
He was born January 1, 1932 in Plaines, Ohio, son of the late Harry M. & Bernice (Cooper) Liggett. On April 17, 1955, he married L. Jean Castle Liggett, who preceded him in death on February 8, 2006.
A US Air Force Master Sergeant Veteran of the Korean & Vietnam Wars Era, he had retired as a civil service air craft maintenance mechanic with the #907 Air Wing at the Clinton Air Base and Rickenbacker Air Force Base.
He was a member of the Richland United Methodist Church in Melvin, the Clinton County Antique Power Club, NARFE, and had been a 4-H Advisor for many years.
Surviving are his daughter- Lisa (Mike) Williams, Wilmington; son- Dave (Kim) Liggett, Bellbrook; 5 grandchildren- Blain (Sarah) Williams, Daron (Carrie) Williams, Jana (Ryan) Bowman, Derek (Fiancee- Laura Belles) Williams, & Alex Liggett; 4 great-grandchildren- Reese, Raylan, Kinley, & Brant; sister- Opal Ridenour, Westerville; sister-in-law- Betty Bealle, Vienna, West Virginia; & 5 nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Dale was preceded in death by his sister- Donna Scott.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry St, Wilmington with Rev. Bill Merriman officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Wilmington, where the Wilmington American Legion Post #49 Memorial Squad will accord full military honors.
Friends will be received from 5-7 PM Friday, Sept 4 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home.
