Clifford Ernest Latchford

Clifford Ernest Latchford, age 87, of Sardinia, Ohio, passed away early Saturday July 29, 2023 at home in Sardinia, OH.  
 
 He was born August 16, 1935 in Stonelick, OH, son of the late Lewis Charles Latchford  and Mary Jane Curless Latchford.
 
 Clifford was a well known boat repairman known as the "Boat Man" in the Rocky Fork Lake and Paint Creek Lake areas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and enjoyed being outdoors working. For many years he worked as a bus mechanic at the Goshen and Clinton Massie schools.
 
 Survivors are daughter, Myrna (Rick) Eichhorn, daughter, Lisa (Gary) Hurst, son, John (Carol) Latchford, son, Ronald Latchford, daughter, Sherry Jackson, son, Simon Latchford, son, Kenneth (Elizabeth) Latchford and step children, Steve and Becky Carpenter. Also surviving is his longtime companion & caregiver, Donna Swim and her children, Sherry (Tony) Bellamy and Brandon (Caitlin) Swim, 37 Grandchildren, 38 Great Grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.
 
 In addition to his parents, Clifford was preceded in death by 3 sons, Clifford Latchford, Jr., Charles Latchford, Mathew Latchford, and siblings, Earl, Albert, Betty, & Doris, and his former wives Ida Mae Latchford and Wanda Latchford.
 
 Services will be held at Edgington Funeral Home, Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Steve Krebsfanger officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sardinia Cemetery, Sardinia, Ohio where the Brown County Honor Guard will accord full military honors.
 
 Friends will be received at Edgington Funeral Home, Mowrystown, Ohio Tuesday, August 1, 2023, 11:00 am - 1:30 pm.
