Charlotte (Wilburn) Gambill

June 9, 1940 — July 13, 2024

Wilmington

Charlotte (Wilburn) Gambill, age 84 of Wilmington, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 13, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones at home. Charlotte was born on June 9, 1940 in Southshore, KY. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Norman L. Gambill on August, 18, 1957. Charlotte was a devoted wife, cherished mother of 4, Grandmother of 10 and Great Grandmother of 10, all of whom she loved fiercely. Charlotte loved Jesus and had a special way of sharing that love with all that she knew. She used her passions and gifts to care, provide and encourage others. Some of those passions included gardening (enough for her family and many more), canning, cooking (known for her cinnamon rolls, homemade candies, deserts and iced tea), quilting, crocheting (Afghans, baby layettes and her signature Christmas stockings), her pool, mowing (she loved her zero-turn mower) and her great Fall pumpkin patch. She was a member of Wilmington Church of Christ and in her younger years she taught Sunday School and VBS. She was a loved and respected Wilmington City School Bus Driver for 27 years.

Charlotte was the daughter of the late John E. Wilburn and Nellie A. (Osborne) Wilburn of Palmyra, Ohio. She was preceded in death by sisters, Louise (Wilburn) Baily, Carolyn (Wilburn) Cruitt and a brother, Eugene Wilburn.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Norman L. Gambill and children: Rhonda (Tracy) Shumaker of Wilmington, OH, Donna (Gary) Priode of Tipp City, OH, Wanda (Roger) Wilt of Columbus, OH and Jeff (Kelly) Gambill of Clarksville, OH. Grandchildren: Karen Abbitt, Jacob (Jessica) Shumaker of Wilmington, OH, Greg (Cammi) Priode of Franklin, TN, Kelsey (Andrew) Patterson of Tipp City, OH, Sarah (Ben) Smith of Paris, KY, Michael Wilt of Lexington, KY, Laura (AJ) Hankins of Seattle, WA, Jillian Gambill & Jordanne Gambill of Columbus, OH and Jenner Gambill of Clarksville, OH. Great-grandchildren, Kalli, Collin, Chloe, David, Graham, Sawyer, Hayden, Easton, Isabella, Baila and two sisters, Zelma Clark and Frances Whaley.
