Charles Hardin, age 81, of Dayton, OH, formerly of Wilmington, died Friday, October 5, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton in Dayton, OH.
He was born July 13, 1931 in Clinton County, OH, son of the late John Calvin Hardin and Marie Paul Hardin.
Charlie was a graduate of Fairmont High School in Dayton where he was a standout football and basketball player and attended Otterbein College. He was also a former member and state vice president of the Ohio Farmers Union, the National Horse Racing Association, was an avid golfer and bowler in the Dayton area and had also worked at NCR for 19 years.
Surviving are two Sons, John Hardin, Joe Hardin, both of New Vienna, Daughter, Gayle Hardin of Tustin, CA, four Grandchildren, Miranda Hardin, Elizabeth Mattingly, Mary Ellen Hardin, & Kathryn Marie Hardin and his loving companion- Inez Oloff, Dayton.
Graveside Services will be held at the Clarksville Cemetery, Monday, October 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Mayo officiating. The Wilmington American Legion Post #49 Memorial Squad will conduct full military honors.
The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home of Wilmington is assisting the family with arrangements.
