Carl Dean Storms, 75, of Winchester, OH, peacefully passed away October 10th, 2015, losing his battle of Lung Cancer and Leukemia. Carl was born on November 10th, 1939 in Corbin KY. He met the love of his life at the young age of 19 shortly after basic training. He was an Army Veteran and worked at DESC in Kettering, OH for over 30 years until he retired at the age of 55. Carl was an avid fan of his Cincinnati Reds and also enjoyed bowling and card games with family and friends. He was a Lifetime member of the AmVets and a member of the Highland County Senior Citizens. Carl and Jean reside in Winchester OH and traveled to their Florida home every winter season, enjoying the warm weather and friendly neighbors. Carl is Survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Jean Storms; his three sons Carl Dean Storms Jr (Connie), Eddie Storms, and Steven Storms (Kim); his grandchildren Tonya Storms, Chasidy (Clay) DeSantis, Jessica (Michael) Donley, Zandra Storms, Brandon Storms, Haley Bridgewater, Josh Storms, Zachery Wenz, Will Wenz, Caitlin Adkins; and Great-grandchildren Faith, Kenny, Somara, Paisley, Brycen, Carli, Savannah, and soon-to-arrive Jacob; brothers Gary Storms, Junior Cecil Bowman, Willard Bowman and sisters Dolly Hinkle, Ella Mae, Evelyn, and Beulah. Carl is Predeceased by his parents Jasper and Rose Storms and ten brothers and sisters.
Services are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015 at the Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Pastor Kevin Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugartree Ridge Cemetery where the Highland County Honor Guard will conduct full military honors. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wed. 11:00 - 1:00 p.m.
