Carl O. Holzhauer, 91, of Wilmington, OH, formerly of Brookville, died Sunday, November 29, 2015 at his home.
He was born February 2, 1924 in Dayton, OH, son of the late Otto Carl Holzhauer and Mathilda Caroline Mauch Holzhauer.
Carl retired as a salesman from Culver Marine in Dayton after 27 years of service.
He was a WW II US Army Veteran having served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater where he received the Bronze Star Medal among other decorations and citations.
Surviving is his wife, Betty Lou Holzhauer, whom he married June 8, 1947 in Lakeview, Ohio, son, Carl Dean (Rhonda) Holzhauer of Wilmington, OH, daughter, Diana Jean (Lee) Zawacki of Uniontown, PA, grandson, Lee Russell (Lisa) Zawacki, four great-grandchildren, two sisters, Eleanor McGarry of Merced, CA, and Kathryn Winstead of Ramona, CA.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Jones.
Graveside services will be held 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Royal Oak Cemetery, Brookville, with Chaplin William Sangrey officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home 97 W. Locust Street, Wilmington, OH
