Carl Harris

Carl R. Harris, age 89, of Gath, Ohio, died Sunday, January 25, 2015 at The Anderson in Cincinnati, OH.

He was born October 7, 1925 in Brown County, OH, son of the late H. Clyde Harris  and Gladys Young Harris.

Carl was the retired Post Master of the Mowrystown Post Office and had served as Clerk for Clay Township.

He was a member of Buford Church of Christ, Sardinia Masonic Lodge, was a life member of the American Legion, and was a WWII U. S. Army veteran having served in Japan.

Survivors include his wife, S. Marie Harris, whom he married August 25, 1947,  seven children, Shirley Klein of Cincinnati, Sally (Bill) Wilmoth of Xenia, Richard (Donna) Harris of Winchester, Sharon Harris of Sabina, Sherry (Burt) Connell of Westerville, Sunita (Mark) Pierson of Lynchburg, and Shawnee Bailey of Lynchburg. Also surviving are 16 Grandchildren, Robert (Fran) Klein, Kelly (Trini) Cruz, Karen Klein, Wil Wilmoth, Joni (Kyle) Lambcke, Carl Harris, Burt Connell, Amanda Connell, Aimee Connell, Anna Connell, Ashley Connell, Devin Pierson, Damin Pierson, Dylin Pierson, Braydon Bailey, and Alaynee Bailey, 7 great grandchildren, and  2 step-great grandchildren also survive.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Haggee.

Services will be held at the Buford Church of Christ, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Robert Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Buford Cemetery where the Highland County Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.

Friends will be received at Edgington Funeral Home, Mowrystown, Ohio Friday, January 30, 2015, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm with Masonic Services at 7:00.
