Burdette L. Quigley,
age 92, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 9, 2015 at the Wilmington Nursing & Rehab Center.
He was born May 4, 1923 in Martinsville, Ohio, son of the late Frank Alfred & Leona Elizabeth (Claibourne) Quigley. He married Helen C. (Johnson), who passed away April 25, 2003.
A 1941 graduate of Martinsville High School, Burdette had been a farmer his entire life. He also had worked assisting funeral homes in the region for many years and had helped the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home for the last 20 years. He was a member of Wilmington Church of ChristWilmington and the Wilmington Kiwanas Club.
Surviving are his daughter-Sharron (Tom) Mallison,Henderson, TN; 2 sons- Randell "Randy" (Joy) Quigley of Three Rivers, MI, & Derek (Debbie) Quigley, Wilmington; grandchildren- Bridget Waters, Kyle Quigley, Sally (David) Tooley, Brad (Cynthia) Mallison, Marily (Kyle) Mallison, Tyler (Tara) Mallison, Wesley Quigley, Dru (Amanda) Quigley, & Austin Quigley; great-grandchildren- Katelyn, Zach, Eric, Nate, Turner, Peter, Anna, Tesseri, Savannah, Lulu, Addi, Callista, Sophia Tony, Ali, Ryker, & Rodric; brother- Bobby (Wilma) Quigley, Martinsville; and 2 sisters- Betty (Neil) Felheim, Martinsville & Ruth Anna Steritz, Wilmington.
In addition to his parents and wife, Burdette was preceded in death by 3 brothers- Samuel Quigley, Harold Quigley, & Forrest Quigley.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM, Monday, July 13, 2015 at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry St., Wilmington. Interment will follow in the Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Martinsville, Ohio.
Friends will be received from 9:30 AM until the time of services at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home.
