Bill Humbert

Bill Humbert, age 76, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022, at his home, surrounded by love ones. He was born July 22, 1946, in Celina, Ohio, the third son of the late Clearance Humbert (1997) and Mary Jane (Sherman) Humbert (2012). Bill was also preceded in death by his brother, Vernon, and his three sisters, Linda, Sharon, and Janice. On October 22, 1971, he married Liveta (Depweg) Humbert, who survives him; together, they raised two surviving sons, Shawn Humbert (Monica Moscati (Tomassi)) and Dustin Humbert (Nicole (Skaggs)). Shawn and Monica have a blended family of three sons (Cody (Anna), Charlie, and (Dylan), two daughters (Kyha and Madison), and one grandchild (Gracelyn). Dustin and Nicole have one son (Wyatt).

Bill was a graduate of the Patterson Co-Op (1964) and a decorated US Navy Sailor (PO2) and veteran, serving tours in Vietnam and the Mediterranean aboard the USS Roosevelt (1969). He worked as a tool maker for nearly 50 years. He was an active member and president with the UCT and a lifetime member with the Huber Heights VFW and AMVETS. Bill was a loving and devoted husband and was an active member of the New Carlisle community, coaching his sons’ baseball and soccer teams. He was also a troop leader for the Boy Scouts of America, where Bill was able to share his leadership skills with the local youth.

Bill will be deeply missed by friends and family who loved him and will always remember him. There will be a service, at 2:00 pm, and reception to follow for friends and family on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the Huber Heights VFW to honor Bill in a celebration of life and remembrance.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bill's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
