Betty Van Winkle,
age 60, of Wilmington, passed away, Tuesday morning, February 18, 2014 at home.
She was born July 7, 1953 in Wilmington, Ohio, daughter of the late Lehman Clark & Sarah Louise (Collins) Walker.
Betty retired as a Deputy Sheriff for Clinton County Sheriff's office after 29 years of service. A member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church, she was a volunteer with the Chester Township/New Burlington Fire Dept for over 20 yrs. She loved to bowl and loved her cats that she called her kids. She was a 1971 graduate of Clinton -Massie High School A very special thank you to Joan Ries and Patsy Flint and all of her other friends for their loving care of Betty.
Surviving are her sister- Joan Bright of Wilmington, OH; & 2 brothers- Donald (Peggy) Walker of Lynchburg, OH, & Richard (Shirley) Walker of Hillsboro, OH; friend- Joyce Noland of Wilmington, OH; sister-in-law- Sharon Walker, Wilmington; numerous nieces & nephews and innumerable friends.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother- Howard Walker, sisters-in-law- Bonnie Walker & Doris Walker; and brother-in-law- John Bright.
Prayers will be said at 10:15 AM, Friday, February 21, 2014 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 73 North Mulberry St. with Rev. Michael Holloran & Fr. Marc Sherlock officiating. Interment will follow in the Miami-Corwin Cemetery, Waynesville, Ohio.
Friends will be received from 4-7 PM, Thursday, February 20 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, OH .
