Betty Roades Shewmaker, age 94, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away early Sunday morning, January 3, 2016 at Bell Gardens in Hillsboro.
She was born October 25, 1921 in Buford, OH, daughter of the late William Harrison and Mamie Agnes Allen Roades.
Betty owned and operated several restaurants, including the Buford Restaurant and Buford Mini Mart. She worked as a secretary for Gross Feibel for many years and had attended the United Methodist Church.
Surviving are brother, Floyd Roades, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews..
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Shewmaker, whom passed away on November 15, 1991, brother, William Harvey Roades, and two sisters, Louada Huber and Ethel Littler.
Services will be held at Edgington Funeral Home, 17 E. Main St. Mowrystown, Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Buford Cemetery, Buford, Ohio.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.
