Barbara H. (Barb) Kneisel
age 89, longtime resident of Wilmington, passed away Friday afternoon, January 27, 2012 in her home. She was born July 30th, 1922 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Sherman and Alice (Crocker) Hamlin. On February 27th, 1942, she married her soul mate, the late Wallace R. Kneisel where they were bonded in this life for 65 years and for eternity. In addition to Wally and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers  Ralph, Herbert, and Charles Hamlin and her sisters Vida Hamlin, Gladys McCullough, and Martha Harward.
She is survived by her two daughters Linda (Don) Wallingford of Lebanon, Ohio and Debbie Kneisel of Cincinnati, Ohio and her son, Richard Kneisel of Wilmington, Ohio. She loved her 5 surviving grandchildren, Lorren and Kara Wallingford and Brett, Jennifer, and Kathryn Kneisel. Also surviving are sisters Opal Semple, Betty Hamlin, Marian Brown, Phyllis (Kenny) O’Bryan, brothers Robert and Frank (Clara) Hamlin, sisters-in-law, Alma Hamlin and Puddy Hamlin and many loving family members and friends whom she loved dearly.
Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother. Barb was the school secretary at the former Roger O. Borror Jr. High School for many years and knew many of the Wilmington residents through this affiliation. She was an avid golfer and was a regular on the Elks golf course with her eternal partner, Wally. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Wilmington.
Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, February 1 at the Presbyterian Church of Wilmington, 840 Timber Glen Drive at Truesdale Street with Pastors Keith Mackintosh and Jeff Ott officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service at the church. There will also be a fellowship gathering immediately following the service in the reception hall of the church. Private burial services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Clinton County Memory Gardens.
