Altia Temple

Altia Sue Temple, age 87, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Heartland of Hillsboro.
She was born March 1, 1929 in Russell County, VA, daughter of the late Joseph Kaynor Sweeney and Mary Castle Sweeney.
Sue had a deep faith. As a result of that deep faith, she was a good listener and encouraged many people who needed a friend, earning the name "Miss Sunshine". She was a resident of Highland County for more than fifty years.
Surviving are two step-sons, Ronald Temple, Donald Temple, two step-daughters, Sandy (Jamie) Hatton, Shirley (Tim) Salyers, seven step-grandchildren, and several step-great grandchildren. Also, survived by members of the Igo Family, long time very good friends in Columbus.
In addition her parents, Mrs. Temple was preceded in death by her husbands, John Jackson, John W. Temple Jr., and her siblings.
Services will be held at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Sugartree Ridge Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of the services.
