Albert M. Hackney, age 79, of Wilmington, OH, died Saturday, November 15, 2014 in Wilmington, OH.
He was born January 24, 1935 in Wilmington, OH, son of the late Howard Smith Hackney and Flossie Lucille Morrow Hackney.
He was a 1953 Kingman High School Graduate, a member of Chester Friends Meeting, a member of the Gold Star Chilli Club, and was the owner of Hackney Excavation and Clint-Mont Excavation. Albert was also a member of the National Rifle Association, the Experimental Aircraft Association, and the Aircraft Owner and Pilot Association.
Surviving is his girlfriend and caretaker, Doris Haines, of Wilmington, his first wife, Laura Jody Rothwell and children, Gayle (Larry) Lakes, and Clint Hackney, both of Wilmington; his second wife, Maureen Larrick, and children, Warwick (Emily) Hackney of Aliso Viejo, CA, and Eric Hackney of Punta Gorda, FL. Also surviving are Eight grandchildren, Brad (Linda) Lakes, Matthew Lakes, Jacob Hackney, Cortney Stacy, Eric Tyree, Ryan Ozuna, Alicia Ozuna, and Jonathan Hackney. Twenty great-grandchildren, and a sister, Katherine Luby of Wilmington, OH also survive.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by a Brother, Roderick Hackney.
The family invites everyone to attend services in "bluejeans and boots" at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Chester Friends Church, with Mike McCormick and Jim Lamb officiating. Interment will follow in the New Burlington Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the church on Saturday, 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. A time of fellowship and food will be held at the church after the committal service at the cemetery.
