Kenneth Lee Cavender, age 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, September 14, 2022. Ken is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cathy (Babb) Cavender. He was born July 17, 1947 , the son of the late Clarence “Cavy” and Ruth (Knisley) Cavender. Ken took great pride in his country and was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam as a helicopter mechanic from 1968-1971. His military service began soon after graduating from Greeneview High School in 1967, where he was a standout football player. Ken enjoyed the
outdoors, whether it be fishing, hunting or just spending time in nature. Above all, he loved his family and his Heavenly Father. He was a faithful member of the Jamestown Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon, and later as an elder. Ken is survived by his daughter, Laura Medina of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and his son, Chad (Erin) Cavender of Sabina; grandchildren, Eusebio Medina, Eric Medina and Jason Medina of Hattiesburg, MS and Claire and Claudia Cavender of Sabina; brother Keith (Sue) Cavender of Jamestown and Stephanie Cavender of North Carolina; and several beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son in law, Miguel Medina.
Family and friends may visit from 4-7 PM on Thursday, September 22 at the Jamestown
Church of Christ, 152 West Washington Street, Jamestown and there will be a service honoring his life at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 23. Interment with military honors will follow at the Silvercreek Cemetery in Jamestown. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
